Project Purpose

The purpose of this study is to identify project recommendations for the Route 11 (Main Street) and Route 16 (Park Boulevard) corridors within the Town of Marion. This study will focus on improving roadway safety, reducing traffic congestion, and enhancing multimodal accessibility/connectivity (pedestrian, bicyclist, and transit). The project recommendations that come from this study will be developed into funding applications for Smart Scale Round 6 and other transportation funding programs.

This study did not continue into Phase 3.

Public Information Meeting

As part of the study, VDOT hosted a public information meeting on Feb. 21, 2024, to review alternatives/study recommendations. The public comment period closed on Feb. 27, 2024.
